LCD screens display a single image, two-in-one or quad images to provide driver views of front and side blind spots or capture 180º and birds-eye views. Monitors may be programmed to switch views when a turn signal (indicator or similar trigger) is activated or manually set to suit driver preferences. To maximise driver and pedestrian safety monitors may also detect moving objects, showing them on the LCD display with optional audible alerts.
